Telekosang Hydro One Sdn Bhd (TH1) and Telekosang Hydro Two Sdn Bhd (TH2) is a Joint-Venture Company with Inno Hydropower (T) Sdn. Bhd. (wholly owned by Yayasan Sabah) that was established to primarily focus on the development, ownership and operation of Small Hydro Power (SHP) plants along Telekosang River, Tenom Sabah. The collaboration is aimed among others, at enhancing production of renewable energy resources to cater for the improvement of electricity security and socio development in the state of Sabah.

THE PROJECT

The development of an integrated 40MW SHP scheme is located on the Telekosang River in Tenom, Sabah. The Project is designed as a cascading hydroelectric scheme where both TH1 Plant and TH2 Plant are situated along the same river such that the run-off discharge of TH2 Plant will be used as the water intake source for the TH1 Plant.

TELEKOSANG ASEAN GREEN SRI SUKUK (TAGSS)
& TELEKOSANG ASEAN GREEN JUNIOR BONDS (TAGJB)

On 6 August 2019, TH1 has successfully issued Islamic Medium-Term Notes (IMTN) of RM470 million in nominal value under the Shariah principle of Wakalah Bi Al-Istithmar with AA3 rating and junior bonds of RM120 million in nominal value with A2 rating assigned by RAM Rating Services Berhad. The TAGSS is aligned with the requirements of Securities Commission Malaysia’s (SC) Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) Sukuk Framework, the ASEAN Green Bond Standards (ASEAN GBS), and the globally recognised Green Bond Principles (GBP) and the TAGJB is aligned with the requirements of the ASEAN GBS and the GBP. TH1 is the issuer of both the TAGSS and TAGJB to part finance the development of both the TH1 Plant and TH2 Plant which are deemed as eligible, sustainable and responsible investment projects pursuant to paragraph 7.07(c) and 7.08(a)(i) of the SC’s Guidelines on Unlisted Capital Market Products under the Lodge and Launch Framework and eligible green projects pursuant to paragraph 4.1.5(i) under the ASEAN GBP (Eligible Green SRI Projects)
